Our Guide to Self Care September

September is a month of new beginnings. Even if you haven’t been to school for years, September will always be “back to school.” As kids, we eagerly shopped for school supplies, set new goals for ourselves, and got excited about heading into colder months. But just because you may not be going back to the classroom, September is a reset month for many, so it might as well be a reset month for you as well. This September doesn’t have to be just any ordinary September. Make it your Self Care September!

Just because you’re not going back to school doesn’t mean you can’t do a little bit of back to school SHOPPING! And just because you aren’t running on a class schedule, you can still be organized in getting your life in order. Buy yourself a new planner! Most planners run on a school year calendar anyways, so it is about time to treat yourself to your new organization best friend! Get a planner that you really love and will enjoy writing in. Watch as you become excited to be organized, and watch the productivity flow!

How else can you treat yourself to become the best you can be? Maybe it’s time to book a new hair appointment, or get your nails done! Or perhaps you want to treat yourself to a skinvestment, and buy yourself some new skincare products.

A physical glow up leads to a mental glow up--when you feel confident, you radiate positive energy and look and feel happier! At Intoxicated, we are ALL about feeling like your best self, so if you’re looking for a glow up, look no further. Many of our customers see significant results in their skin in only a couple weeks, so your dream skin may come before the month even ends!

While we love shopping and any sort of excuse to treat ourselves a little, you don’t have to spend any money at all to really practice self care. The majority of self care is all about you: how you treat yourself, the habits you form, and how you prioritize yourself.

Ask yourself, how do you treat yourself? Do you look in the mirror and think negatively about yourself? Do you treat yourself how you want to be treated by others?

Ask yourself, what are your best habits? What are your worst habits? How can you alter your bad habits into good habits by thinking critically about how you formed your good habits?

Ask yourself, do you consistently put others' needs before your own? Do you find yourself doing things you don’t want to do to please others? How can you prioritize yourself to make sure you are giving yourself everything you need?

Take some time to reflect on these questions. Write down in a notebook your candid answers and then see if you can make any conclusions. Use these reflections to then see how you can be caring for yourself better through loving yourself.

Take our advice and your September will be amazing. Get organized, go on a shopping spree, buy some top-notch skincare, and start prioritizing yourself! With a little treating yourself and a whole lot of loving yourself, your September can be the reset you need.
