Sunscreen Hacks You Need For The Summer

Sunscreen Hacks You Need For The Summer

With summer quickly approaching, our SPF usage is more important than ever! While you should be wearing sunscreen every single day, regardless of the weather and your activities, this rule becomes especially important in the summertime.

Incorporate SPF Into Your Daily Routine

If you haven’t already, be sure to make SPF a part of your daily skincare routine! This way, you’re always protected. I apply my sunscreen as the final step of my skincare routine after all my other products and serums have soaked into my skin. Find a sunscreen you love that will make it easy for you to apply it everyday!

Apply It Correctly

If you rub your palms together before applying your SPF to your face, your hands will be protected from the sun, but your face won’t be nearly as protected. Instead, apply your sunscreen in a thin, even later across your skin. Be sure not to rub too much, or else you’ll end up rubbing the sunscreen off.

Set a Timer to Reapply

We’re all supposed to reapply sunscreen every two hours but.. Who really does it? So, to keep your skin protected from the sun’s harmful rays, set a timer on your phone to reapply. You can also use this timer to remind yourself to drink some water - it’s a win-win!

Keep Your Hands Clean and Your Makeup Flawless by Using a Makeup Sponge

It’s no secret that reapplying sunscreen over a full-face of makeup is less than ideal. It can lift up your makeup and leave you with steaks across your face. However, by dabbing your sunscreen onto a makeup sponge, you’re able to reapply the sunscreen effortlessly without messing up your makeup!

Sneak in Sunscreen Wherever Possible

If you constantly forget to put sunscreen on, try to use products that already include SPF! By using a foundation, lip balm, setting spray, and powder that contain SPF, you’ll sneak that sunscreen in without even trying! However, it is still important to reapply every couple of hours, especially from 10AM to 4PM when the sun’s rays are the harshest.
