The Science Behind Our Antidote Moisturizer

Intoxicated Cosmetics’ Antidote Moisturizer is a  luxurious facial treatment that supplements our serums by smoothing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while also providing hydration and nourishment to your skin.

Although Antidote does not contain any variations of venom, it does contain several active ingredients to enhance the effects found from our serums. One of these active ingredients is Venuceane,  an extremophile enzyme that protects the skin from environmental factors, smoothes lines and wrinkles, protects and promotes natural firmness, and calms irritation.

Antidote also contains Vitamins C and E, Green Tea Antioxidants, Grape Seed oil, and Jojoba oil. These ingredients are not only anti-aging, but they also hydrate and work to protect skin against environmental factors.

In addition, Antidote contains Malic Acid and Vitamin B5 to gently resurface the skin, unclog pores, and eliminate bacteria, creating a healthy, glowing complexion.

This moisturizer is suitable for all skin types, day and night.

Below, please find the full scientific breakdown of each one of Antidote’s main ingredients:

Venuceane:

Venuceane is an anti-aging ingredient that protects the skin from environmental factors, smoothes lines, protects the skin, and calms irritation. It is also highly efficient at protecting the skin against infrared aging, which is a major contributor to photo-damage.

Pentavitin:

Pentavitin is a plant-derived hydration superstar. It’s a completely natural ingredient that provides instant hydration for up to 72 hours. Most ingredients don’t have the correct molecular structure and sizing to penetrate the skin, but Pentavitin is small enough to deeply penetrate the skin. It creates a moisture barrier on the skin immediately after application and binds within the layers of the skin. This means that unlike most moisturizing ingredients, Pentavintin can’t be washed away. It will provide long-lasting hydration, even if you miss a day of application.

Consumer test panels showed a reduction in itchiness and flakiness, and noticed that their skin was visibly smoother. Over time, the skin becomes more plump and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is reduced.

Matrixyl Synthe 6:

Matrixyl Synthe 6 enhances the production of 6 skin-rebuilding essentials, including collagen and elastin. It encourages the skin to produce more of the cells that keep skin looking young and healthy. In addition, it also causes the skin to be rebuilt from the inside-out, causing wrinkles to be smoothed. When Matrixyl Synthe 6 is introduced to Collagen, Collagen 1 is improved by 111%, Collagen III is improved by 104%, and Collagen IV is improved by 42%. This makes the skin appear more youthful. This ingredient also improved water retention. Matrixyl Synthe 6 targets the most problematic skin areas, such as sagging, droopy skin, and wrinkles around the eyes, nose, mouth and forehead. Once you apply Matrixyl Synthe 6, it immediately starts working to make fine lines and wrinkles less noticeable. It works especially hard to target the appearance of crows’ feet and other stubborn fine lines. It is also fully safe for those with sensitive skin and will not cause irritation.

Hyaluronic Acid:

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar molecule that is already found in your skin. It helps bind water to collagen, trapping it in the skin so that your skin appears plumper, dewier, and more hydrated. Hyaluronic acid is crucial to keep our skin hydrated, but the naturally occuring amount in our skin fades as we age. In addition, harsh weather causes tiny breaks in the protective skin barrier, allowing water and hydration to escape your skin. It works well for all skin types and is safe for everyone. It’s also fantastic at adding moisture back into the skin while still being incredibly lightweight. Hyaluronic acid also improves the appearance of the skin by firming, improving texture, combating dryness, and reducing the appearance of wrinkles. In addition, hyaluronic acid can speed up wound healing which also makes it great for healing acne and reducing the appearance of acne scars. If you suffer from redness or eczema, hyaluronic acid helps calm them. Due to its hydrating properties, hyaluronic acid is also great for promoting radiant, dewy skin and it’s also been seen to decrease face puffiness. Since it’s naturally occurring in the body, there are little to no side effects seen when incorporating hyaluronic acid into your skincare routine.

Jojoba Oil:

Jojoba oil is deeply hydrating. It penetrates into the skin to soothe and soften skin while moisturizing. This hydration is also long-lasting since it’s an oil opposed to a water-based moisturizer. Studies have shown that Jojoba Oil provides long-acting moisture layers. Jojoba Oil also contains tons of nutrients such as Vitamin E + B, in addition to antioxidants and minerals such as copper, chromium, and zinc. These all work together to nourish and protect your skin. Due to its moisturizing abilities, Jojoba oil helps to slow down the appearance of aging while fading fine lines and wrinkles. For those who are acne-prone, Jojoba Oil is very similar to human skin oils, so it does not cause acne or other skin issues. It also doesn’t clog pores or leave a greasy residue on the skin and is antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory.
